An Wonderful experience with BIT

After our successful debut with K.S.R.C.T, our enthusiasm reached a higher level. I, Kannan, and Raghu wanted to continue this to further and wanted to share our knowledge among students. 

When you want to do something, the opportunity will come to you. We got an invitation from the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology. When I researched about this institute I found it's a 25 years old engineering college, that started its journey in the year 1995.

Our intention in conducting such events is to educate students on the concepts of Application performance management and how it impacts the IT industry.

We divided the topic into 3 sections. 

1. Introduction to Performance Testing.
2. LoadRunner Walkthrough
3. JMeter Walkthrough

In the 1st section which was Introduction to Performance testing, we covered fundamental aspects of performance testing and its importance in the IT world.

In LoadRunner Walkthrough, we tried to provide a basic understanding of how to use the tool and conduct performance testing. We have prepared a demo for it. We used one demo web-based application and showed how to create the script, do execution and fetch results.

The same thing as LoadRunner, we showed using JMeter which is one of the widely used open source performance testing tools. 

The most interesting part of our webinar was the student interaction. The student of BIT asked many questions which we tried to answer. The 3 hours-long sessions passed so fast for their participation which gave immense satisfaction to us that we were able to guide them a little.

This time Bhuvana wasn't there with us in the session. She went to L.A for AWS reinvent -2021 session. 

Kannan was the coordinator for us for this whole event in BIT. After 2 days of our 1st session which was held on 20th November 2021, he asked us when can we have it. We 3 were very excited after our 1st successful virtual session. Without wasting any single time we decided to have it next Saturday for our 1st event. It was 27th November 2021. He drove the whole session like a pro! I and Raghu were a bit nervous that day before our session started. Once Kannan joined his energy and presence boosted us so much that our nervousness just vanished in a second.

One thing, at last, I want to add. It was not just a session for us. We enjoyed it and as a team, we came to much closure. It takes years for many people like Bhuvana and Kannan to do what they loved to do which they gave us on a platter so that we can do it if we want!
